Broker Investigation: Jeffrey Cohen of Moloney Securities
On June 5, 2023, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) reportedly barred financial advisor Jeffrey Cohen (CRD #2528929) from the securities industry.
FINRA, the self-regulator who oversees brokers and brokerage firms, was reportedly investigating Cohen concerning allegations regarding the sale of securities through one of his prior Outside Business Activities in an arbitration matter disclosed on his Form U4.
FINRA’s Form U4, collects information about an individual’s personal background, employment history, disciplinary history, and regulatory disclosures. The regulator was reportedly investigating Cohen’s involvement in the sale of the securities noted in a customer arbitration. On March 20, 2023, FINRA sent a request to Cohen for information. By refusing to produce the information or documents as requested Cohen violated FINRA Rules 8210 and 2010.
