Richmond Family Sues Former Broker for Stealing Fortune

According to reports, Lynne Kinder, the widow of a wealthy investment banker in Charlottesville, VA has accused Victor Dandridge III of stealing her family’s $7 million fortune.

Kinder’s husband “Trey” Kinder died in 2005, and was Dandridge’s partner at Thompson Davis & Co. in Richmond, VA.

The suit was filed November 17 and states that Dandridge was struggling with his own financial dealings and has allegedly admitted to stealing and mismanaging Kinder’s money in a scam that diminished her assets from $6.9 million to less than $2 million. It also claims a criminal investigation was launched by the FBI in October.

According to the document, Dandridge allegedly stole and squandered millions of dollars from the Kinder family during the period of 2007 to 2016.

In addition to Dandridge, the suit also throws allegations at a dozen other defendants, including Thompson Davis – where Dandridge worked from 2012 until this summer – its founder and CEO Bill Davis, its current and former compliance officers, the firm’s in-house hedge fund, and Dandridge’s wife.

According to FINRA Broker Check, Dandridge was registered as a financial advisor with Thompson & Davis from 02/17/2012 – 07/19/2016.
