Thomas Weisel Partners, LLC (CRD #46237, San Francisco, California) was fined $200,000.
The sanction was based on findings that the firm allegedly failed to establish and maintain a supervisory system and procedures governing principal transactions the firm effected and that, as a result, transactions that had the potential to, and in fact did, pose a serious conflict of interest, were not subject to effective supervisory review.
