Concerned about your investment in SQN Venture Income Fund LP?

Are you concerned about your investment in SQN Venture Income Fund LP? If so, the securities attorneys at The White Law Group may be able to help you by filing a FINRA Dispute Resolution claim against the brokerage firm that sold you the investment.

SQN Venture Partners LLC is reportedly the manager of the SQN Venture Income Fund LP, a Delaware limited partnership which was reportedly formed to make investments in leases and debt securities to emerging technology, venture backed, privately held companies and related equity securities such as warrants.

The company has offices in New York and California and is an affiliate of SQN Capital Management LLC, a registered investment advisor with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to SEC filings, the company filed a Form D to raise capital from investors for the offering of the SQN Venture Income Fund LP in 2017.  According to the filings, the offering type was equity and the total offering amount sold was purportedly $46,765,000 to 488 investors. The sale compensation recipient was purportedly SQN Securities, according to the Reg D.

Unfortunately brokers may not always adequately explain the risks and liquidity problems involved with purchasing units in a Limited Partnership.

These investments are often considerably more risky than traditional investments such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds just because of lessor oversight by regulators. They also typically come  with high fees and commissions.

Securities Investigation

The White Law Group is investigating potential securities claims involving FINRA registered brokerage firms who may have unsuitably recommended high risk investments such as a SQN Capital Management offering to investors.

Broker dealers are required to perform adequate due diligence on any investment they recommend. They must ensure that all recommendations are suitable for the investor. Recommendations should be in line with the investor’s age, risk tolerance, net worth, and investment experience.

If a broker dealer fails to perform due diligence on any investment that they recommend, they may be held responsible for investment losses.
