Gary A. Forest  – American Portfolio  – Flint, Michigan

Have you suffered losses investing with Gary A. Forest in Flint, Michigan? If so, the securities attorneys at The White Law Group may be able to help you to recover your losses by filing a FINRA Dispute Resolution claim against the brokerage firm that sold you the investment

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on April 11, 2019, the regulator has barred former financial advisor Gary A. Forest from associating with any FINRA member at any time.

FINRA states in a Letter of Acceptance, Wavier & Consent, that between September 2016 and November 2016, Forest allegedly solicited investors to purchase promissory notes relating to the Woodbridge Group of Companies LLC, a purported real estate investment fund.

Forrest purportedly sold $826,986 in Woodbridge promissory notes to 15 investors, 13 of whom were American Portfolio customers. Forrest received $25,905 in commissions in connection with these transactions, according to FINRA. The Firm’s written supervisory procedures specifically required registered representatives to request and obtain approval prior to engaging in private securities transactions including the offer of promissory notes. Although Forrest sought approval to sell Woodbridge promissory notes, American Portfolio denied his request. Despite this denial, Forrest reportedly sold Woodbridge promissory notes while associated with the Firm.

According to his FINRA BrokerCheck Report, Forest was registered with American Portfolio Financial Services in Flint, MI for 9 years. He has 1 customer complaint listed on his broker record in August 2018. Allegations include “misrepresentation and unsuitable recommendation of fraudulent unregistered securities.”

For FINRA’s full findings see FINRA case number 2018059400801.
