FINRA Indefinitely Suspends Broker Damian Baird for Alleged Misconduct
According to public documents, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the self-regulator that oversees brokers and brokerage firms, has suspended financial advisor Damian Baird (CRD #3097243) from the securities industry.
According to the self-regulator, FINRA suspended Baird after he reportedly failed to comply with an arbitration award or settlement agreement or to satisfactorily respond to a FINRA request to provide information concerning the status of compliance.
Baird’s broker report indicates that one of his customers alleged that an account they opened was never funded. The clients allegedly “wrote a check for $50,000 on February 3, 2023 for deposit. The bank’s fraud department contacted the clients with concerns that the check which was presented for payment on February 24, 2023 may have been altered and was made payable to Damian Baird,” according to his broker record.
Further, local authorities in Erie County, NY and Tonawanda, NY reportedly launched an investigation into the above customer allegations on March 1, 2023. The investigation is reportedly pending.
