FINRA Reportedly Bars Broker Dan Jossen after Allegations of Misrepresentation involving VA sales

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on June 25, the regulator reportedly barred financial advisor Daniel E. Jossen (CRD # 5463761) after he purportedly failed to provide testimony in its investigation.

FINRA allegedly found that Jossen was permitted to resign after he allegedly solicited business in a jurisdiction in which he was not licensed, allegedly misrepresented the terms of variable products and reportedly maintained client log-in credentials in an outside brokerage account to process financial transactions. His employer reportedly became aware of these violations through customer complaints.

Jossen’s disclosures reportedly include 5 customer complaints and an employment separation in addition to the recent regulatory action, according to his FINRA Broker record. Customer complaints include allegations of misrepresentation involving variable annuities and excessive broker fees, among others.

According to his FINRA BrokerCheck report, Jossen was reportedly affiliated with the following firms during his career in the securities industry:

NYLIFE SECURITIES LLC (CRD#:5167), BETHESDA, MD, 06/15/2011 – 02/09/2021

PARK AVENUE SECURITIES LLC (CRD#:46173), BETHESDA, MD, 12/19/2007 – 06/01/2011
