Anthony Mediate III. (CRD #2449614, New Jersey) recently submitted a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent which resulted in a 60 day suspension.
Without admitting or denying the findings, Mediate consented to the described sanctions and to the entry of findings that he engaged in excessive trading and exercised discretion without written authorization in his handling of a customers IRA account. The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) allege that during the fifteen month period that the customer maintained the IRA account with Mediate, the customer incurred a net out of pocket loss of approximately $55,000. The findings allege that the customer paid a total of $37,464.45 in commissions and that the commission-to equity ration was 30 percent.
At the time the account was opened, the customer was retired, separated from her husband and living with her three children. FINRA found the alleged activity to be inconsistent with the customers stated objectives and financial situation.
According to FINRA BrokerCheck, Mediate was a registered with Carlton Capital Group from 01/2007 to 11/2007 , J.P. Turner & Company from 10/2007 to 01/2011 and National Securities Corporation from 01/2011 to 12/201, during the relevant time. Most recently, Mediate was registered with Newbridge Securities Corporation from 12/2011 to 11/2012.
