The Trouble with Private Placements

Compared to traditional investments, such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds, private placements are more complex and are better suited for sophisticated and institutional investors. According to a letter to investors dated January 2015, Cypress Income Fund II has completely liquidated. All assets have been sold and the fund was fully dissolved in December 2014. This news is troubling to investors.
