TD Ameritrade Has Issues Integrating Thinkorswim Accounts

Did you recently experience difficulty with your Thinkorswim account(s) while they were being transferred to TD Ameritrade? If so, The White Law Group may be able to help you.

After its 2009 purchase of the options trader Thinkorswim, TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. recently took the final step to integrate Thinkorswim accounts into their platform. They reportedly moved more than 250,000 accounts.  However, the integration did not go as smoothly as planned.

A TD Ameritrade spokeswoman told Bloomberg News in an email correspondence that they “[experienced] some issues, impacting a subset of clients and their ability to place trades electronically.” TD Ameritrade did report to Reuters that they fixed the problem and that as of August 17, 2011 all clients were able to place trades.

However, some account holders were prevented from trading for a period of time which may have caused financial harm to some of these investors.

If you were affected by the integration of Thinkorswim into TD Ameritrade and lost in excess of $100,000 as a result, The White Law Group may be able to help.  To speak with a securities attorney, please call the firm’s Chicago office at 312/238-9650.
