Michael D. Kennedy, partner with The White Law Group, is a member of the Washington State and Illinois State Bar Associations, as well as a member of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA), an association of securities attorneys who dedicate their practices to the representation of investors defrauded by their financial professional or brokerage firm.

Mike was selected to the 2021 Illinois Rising Stars list,  a designation of top-rated practicing attorneys selected through extensive evaluation. He was also recently selected by his peers for inclusion in the Second Edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America.

His practice is primarily dedicated to representing defrauded investors in arbitration cases before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) in the pursuit of recovery of his clients’ investment losses.  In his time with The White Law Group, Mike has represented more than 350 investors in FINRA arbitration claims as well as in state court proceedings and other arbitration forums. 

Mike’s experience has afforded him with a deep knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the securities industry in its duties to the investing public.  His cases have included claims relating to, among others, unsuitable investment recommendations, negligence, fraud, failure to supervise, breach of fiduciary duty, failure to perform adequate due diligence before recommending an investment product to the investing public. 

While his practice is dedicated primarily to representing investors in securities claims, Mike has experience in commercial litigation, personal injury law, landlord-tenant disputes, and collections cases.

He graduated from the University of South Carolina and then from the DePaul University College of Law, where he also received his Certificate in Business Law.  Prior to beginning his legal career, Mike was a teacher.  To this day, he takes pride in helping the White Law Group’s clients to understand their case and keeping them informed at every stage of the process so that his clients can make educated choices about their cases.

Away from the office, Mike spends his time with his wife and daughter and is an avid sports fan, following Chicago’s professional teams and his alma mater, the University of South Carolina. He and his family reside in Seattle, Washington.
