Invesco Real Estate Income Trust Inc.: Securities Investigation

Invesco Real Estate Income Trust Inc. Securities Investigation, featured by top securities fraud attorneys, The White Law Group

Concerned about your investment in Invesco Real Estate Income Trust

The White Law Group is investigating potential securities claims involving broker dealers who may have unsuitably recommended Invesco Real Estate Income Trust Inc. to investors.

Invesco Real Estate Income Trust Inc., a publicly registered non-traded REIT reportedly invests in “stabilized, income-oriented commercial real estate” in the United States.

The White Law Group is currently investigating potential claims against brokerage firms who may have unsuitably recommended non-traded REITs to investors.

These claims result when broker-dealers fail to perform adequate due diligence on the investments before offering them for sale to their clients. Also, the brokerage firms often fail to determine if the investments were appropriate given their clients’ age, investment, experience, net worth, and risk tolerance.

About Invesco Real Estate Income Trust

Invesco Real Estate Income Trust Inc. (INREIT) is a non-traded REIT that invests primarily in stabilized, income-oriented commercial real estate in the United States. To a lesser extent, INREIT also originates and acquires private real estate debt, including loans secured or backed by real estate, preferred equity interests and interests in private debt funds, according to its website.

The company also invests in liquid real estate-related equity and debt securities intended to provide current income and a source of liquidity for its share repurchase plan, cash management and other purposes.

According to the company, this investment strategy involves “a high degree of risk and is intended only for investors with a long-term investment horizon and who do not require immediate liquidity or guaranteed income.

If Invesco Real Estate Income Trust is unable to effectively manage the impact of the risks inherent in its business, it may not meet its investment objectives. You should only invest in INREIT if you can afford a complete loss of your investment.”

Monthly NAV REIT – Invesco Real Estate Income Trust

A monthly NAV (Net Asset Value) REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) such as Invesco Real Estate Income Trust, refers to a type of REIT where the Net Asset Value is calculated monthly.

A REIT is a company that owns, operates, or finances income-generating real estate across a range of property sectors. They allow individuals to invest in real estate without having to buy or manage properties directly.

Net Asset Value (NAV) is the value of a fund’s assets minus its liabilities. For a REIT, this typically includes the value of the properties it owns, minus any debts or other obligations. By calculating the NAV monthly, investors may get a more frequent and accurate picture of the underlying value of the REIT’s assets.

While investing in a monthly NAV REIT may provide investors with more transparency, they may also have higher administrative costs due to the more frequent valuation process.

Non-Traded REITs are Complex, High-Risk Investments

Non-traded REITs are complex and high-risk investments for several reasons. First, the investment itself is unsuitably risky because it is dependent on the overall health of specific sectors of the economy.

Second, non-traded REITs are illiquid, severely limiting the investor’s ability to access funds should the need arise.

They are often less regulated than other types of investments (i.e., mutual funds, stocks, etc.) and typically pay higher sales commissions and fees than these other products.

Broker Due Diligence

Brokers must perform adequate due diligence to determine if an investment is suitable for each client. Investment recommendations should be in line with the client’s age, investment experience, net worth, risk tolerance, investment objectives, and income.

When a broker overlooks suitability requirements or misleads a client, not only are they potentially liable for investment loss, the brokerage firm that employs such brokers may also be on the hook for losses.
